This course moves students beyond the basic fundamentals of marksmanship and into the martial sciences aspect of defensive pistol shooting aka defensive gun fighting. We began with a thorough safety audit of each student. Over the course of instruction, you are introduced to several advanced concepts to include establishing a consistent Master grip, a proper Draw Stroke and a Safe Re-Holstering of your firearm in all shooting positions, from there, we learn the dynamics of movement and alternative firing positions, you will learn to engage multiple threats, shooting from cover and around barriers. This class is designed to elevate your self-awareness and self assessment skills giving you the keys to self improvement!

Prerequisites for this course are The Basics of Pistol Shooting course.

Gear Requirements:

Serviceable Semi-Automatic Pistol

Minimum 3 Magazines

300 rounds of factory ammunition (500 recommended)

Quality OWB(outside the waist band) holster- No Serpa holsters or No Uncle Mike’s holsters.

Eye and Ear Protection (electronic hearing protection recommended)

Basic gun cleaning kit

Appropriate range attire (to include rain coat)

Water, Snacks and a packed lunch.

An open mind and a positive attitude.
